Yep, there is a person out there somewhere (me) who made this "space", with the help of pervasive and audacious technology. Thank you for visiting- I'm impressed you've made it this far, it really shows you care :)
Broken arm or not, the show must go on.
Born as the 80's bloomed. I made sure to wear neon in case I was caught out in the dark. Some of my clothes even glowed. Maybe it was all those sick hues, or the red hair, but I have kept colour with me my whole life, even as my peers aged out of it.
I have spent my life blending fluid expression with dogged exploration. In high school I attended the Visual Arts Centre, a juried magnet program; I spent my lunch hour driving to the outskirts of Washington, D.C. to paint and draw. After graduation I attended Maryland Institute, College of Art, majoring in painting. Leaving Baltimore to travel, I spent 6 months in India and Nepal, where I began my lifelong focus of meditation and Buddhist philosophy. Back in North America I oscillated between wilderness retreats and making art, with exhibitions in Toronto and Vancouver. As artist-in-residence in Port Coquitlam I made painted quilts with donated clothing and ran community programs. I currently sometimes work at the Grand Forks Public Library and have recently exhibited both my paintings and Library Taxidermy at Gallery 2, where I have also offered community collage workshops.
Below are some random photos I've taken over the intervening years.
So what have you been up to?
